I’ve been to NYC a handful of times (and love it each time) but this last time was different… it was a quick overnight trip (24 hours total) and it was also Aiden’s first time in the city! I was torn, I knew we didn’t have that much time but I wanted to show off as much of the city to Aiden as possible.
So here is our 24 hours in New York City. We stayed at a pretty centralized hotel, so that helped a lot. Plus we rode the subway when needed.
10:00 AM | Checked into our hotel, Park Central Hotel New York
11:00 AM | Walked through Time Square
11:30 AM | Walked to lunch at Lombardi’s Pizza
1:00 PM | Walked over to the 9/11 Memorial, One World Trade Center and Saint Paul’s Churchyard (must see)
5:00 PM | Dinner at Totto Ramen – Hell’s Kitchen (get there early to avoid a huge line)
6:00 PM | Walked to Radio City Music Hall (during America’s Got Talent) and Rockefeller Center after dinner
7:30 PM | Waited in a crazy long line for the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, but was totally worth it
10:00 PM | Walked back to our hotel through Time Square
8:00 AM | Went to the top of the Empire State Building right when they opened (too bad the weather did not agree with us that day)
10:00 AM | We had to go to FAO Schwarz with Aiden!
11:00 AM | Walked through Central Park before checking out of our hotel
While there were a few other places I would have loved to stop at (High Line, Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal), I think we got a lot in that short weekend. Plus, we will be back before we know it!
Don’t forget to follow along on social media!
I love this list! I've only really explored Soho in NYC. Btw, Aiden is absolutely adorable!!!
My fav is the Met, spent two days in a row there… Went to the musuem of sex, two thumbs way down, it had so much potential, but was so lame. There's 24 hours in a day you only have to sleep 6 of those— what a great use of your time!! Yall saw a lot– Aiden will love this trip forever 🙂
Oh wow, you managed to see quite a lot! I actually spent my weekend planning mine and my bf's trip to New York over Christmas. There's so much to see and do in NYC!
That's a great shot from Top of the Rock! I went during sunset last time.

Dinner at 5?? So early!! HAHA. Try Halal Guys on 53rd and 6th if you get the munchies at 10pm. It has a cult following for Chicken and Rice. Your hubby will love it. Also hit up Laduree' in Upper East Side for some macaron fix!
Ohh, you managed to pack in a lot! This sounds like such a lovely 24hrs, I guess sometimes when you know you don't have much time, you make every hour amazing! I went to NYC twice as a child but I'd really love to go back with adult eyes and see it "properly." I really love your Central Park pictures – the bright green against the city!
Oh the Met, yes! I'm totally going to google the Museum of Sex now, you got me curious ha! It was great, Aiden got to see a lot and the best part was that he recognized most of the places we went to!
Thanks Jordan! 🙂 New York is so great cause no matter how many times you go, there's always some place new or exciting to go to! How are you enjoying Croatia? Love seeing your IG pictures 🙂
You're going to have so much fun! There's tons to do! That's the hardest part, decided what to see and do! And where to eat! I've never bee to NYC over Christmas, always over the summer or fall… I would love to see the huge Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center or go iceskating in Central Park!
Thanks Jessica! Ohhh I bet the views at sunset are amazing! Was it insanely crowded then? I imagine everyone would want to be up there for that shot!
Yep. Lots of tourists, but worth it: http://itsjpei.wordpress.com/2014/07/03/top-of-the-rock/
It's amazing how much you can do in 24hrs! I've never been to New York but I can imagine how difficult planning out a trip there would be, let alone one that short! It's pretty awesome that you guys can head over fairly often! I would love to see New York someday 🙂
I'm definitely impressed with your skills – that's a lot in 24 hours!! I love the views from the Top of the Rock – and the shorter lines, too!!
So fun!!!! I would love to go one day!
5 o'clock and still a line! We put our name down on the clipboard lol.
Thanks Marcella! You're totally right, sometimes when you're short on time you make the most out of it more than when you have all the time in the world. Definitely try to make it back as an adult! 🙂
I guess looking back, the fog added some drama to the shots lol. But it started pouring when we were walking to Central Park, not cool lol.
I hope you make it to NYC one day, it's such a fun city! Great for girls trips too! In the meantime, have an amazing time in Italy… can't wait to live vicariously through you! ha
Thanks Sara! I totally with you, I love the views from Top of the Rock… and prefer them to the views at the Empire State building!
Oh I love this! I've never been to New York but would love to go someday! I love the night shot from Top of the Rock, though we both have no patience for lines! I'm impressed with how much you've fit in in 24 hours. If it were us, we'd be sleeping in the next morning until the last possible second for checking out!
Love those views! We did a lot of those things a well when we were there for a few days back in December… but even then, more we didn't get to (I also want to check out the High Line). Next time for sure! I love cities like NYC, because although you can't get to it all, there's always a reason to go back.
The t-shirts are right… I <3 NY 🙂 It's such a fun city!
We had no clue the line was going to be that long at Top of The Rock… they separate you into different groups so you're thinking, okay this isn't too bad… and then everyone winds up in the same room after multiple elevator rides but by then, you're already too committed ha! The Empire State Building wasn't bad though cause we got there RIGHT when they opened!
For sure! That's the reason why I never get sick of going to NYC 🙂 I would love to see NYC in December though, it would be like being in a classic Christmas movie! And to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center!
Haha awe thanks Christine! 🙂
Beautiful, beautiful pictures! We only live about 5 hours away but can't go until I get my visa stuff sorted. You packed so much into your trip. Oh my, I can't wait to go. I just can't wait!
I can practically put myself back in New York with this post. You guys did it RIGHT. I love this.
Thanks Ashley! New York is just one of those cities that never gets old!
Thanks Holly! When you do go, you're going to have so much fun! It's a good thing I don't like that close to NYC, I would go all the time 🙂
I want to, believe me!! I can't wait til I can!
I just love all your NYC photos! It's making me excited to move there this summer (thanks for that, because I'm still feeling sad about leaving Paris)!
I'm so glad you did the Top of the Rock – best view in my opinion! And you did the Empire State Building – impressive! Which did you prefer?
I love to go to Murrays Cheese and have the cheese flight (with wine, obvs) its fantastic! I did a lot of these when I stayed in NYC over summer, but I need an excuse to go back and tick a few more off the list 🙂
Awe, I would be sad leaving Paris too but living in NYC would be so much fun! I definitely preferred Top of the Rock. I wish we did Top of the Rock second… but the Empire State Building is still a classic 🙂
Oh I'll definitely have to check out Murrays Cheese the next time I'm in NYC! You can never get enough of New York… do you have a preference over NYC or London? I love both of those cities so much, it would be so hard to choose!
It looks like Aiden had so much fun! Is he into Spiderman? Avi was super excited and says she would love to live in the city where he lives (we were there for less than a day)! haha, if only.
